Nuevo Laredo is a city in the state of Tamaulipas. The city lies on the banks of the Río Grande, across from the U.S. city of Laredo, Texas. Nuevo Laredo is now the most important border town of Latin America, its geographical position has enabled this city to grow and specialize in the international trade business. Nuevo Laredo has a very developed logistics and transportation industry, complemented with a variety of hotel chains, restaurants and a marvelous cultural centre where important cultural events take place, such as the Tamaulipas International Festival.

Tourist Offices
There is a tourist information office at the Palacio Federal, on the eastern edge of Plaza Hidalgo, but it’s only really worth going if you speak some Spanish.

Sightseeing
There is a celebration of the anniversary of the city every year from the 13th - 15th June. The festivities include baseball games, music and dancing and bullfights, along with copious amounts of food and drink.

Getting there
The airport is 14km south of town and is served twice a day by flights coming in from Mexico City. There are daily buses to and from lots of destinations in northern Mexico including Monclova, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Matamoros, San Luis Potosí, Tampico and Saltillo.
