This beautiful small village is very famous for its textile industry, which is a grand tradition here. The main products that come from this textile village are woolen blankets, sarapes and bags. The traditional designs are still used, such as the flowers, birds and geometric patterns. On top of that, the natural dyes that were once used have been revived.
Sightseeing
This small village, with a population of just 2,250, has some other attractions too. The most notable would be the 17th century Templo de Santa Ana. Recognizing it is very easy, it's highly decorative and is situated on the central plaza. Another attraction is the Museo Comunitario Shan-Dany, which is a community museum that displays local textiles, archaeology and history.
Getting there
It is located about 4km north of Tlacolula. Getting here is easy, buses from Tlacolula are always available.
