Santiago Apaola is a small village with an altitude of 2000m above sea level, and situated 40km north of Nochixtlan. It offers a spectacular landscape with a stunning green valley and deep cliffs as the surrounding. A small village has a small population and hence this place has enough to offer in terms of peace and tranquility. The journey to Santiago Apaola passes through unpaved roads and can take a long time. Although the journey can get tiring due to the bumpy ride, the sight of Santiago Apaola will soothe your tired eyes. The scenery there is just breathtaking, with the 60m waterfall Cascada Cola de la Serpiente, and the 400m deep Canyon Morelos. Accommodations are easily available and are in the form of hotels as well as camps.
