Despite the fact that Agua Azul is just a detour off the Ocosingo-Palenque road, this place is very popular as a water attraction. It is easily accessible from Palenque as there are day tours available. The attractions here are the breathtakingly powerful, white waterfalls, falling majestically into turquoise pools, surrounded by lush forests. Though you are allowed to swim in the pools, it can be quite dangerous. The current is very strong, and there are hidden dangers like rocks. Next to the falls there is a concrete path with steps running 700metres up, where you can find many souvenir stalls.
