Ocosingo is a bustling town and a market hub for a large area. It is nicely located in a broad, temperate valley in the middle of cool misty mountains and the steamy lowland forests. It is about halfway between San Cristóbal and Palenque. Known as the access point to the nearby Maya ruins of Toniná and the jumping-off point for Laguna Miramar, it’s an important place indeed. Since it’s a popular town, there are plenty of hotels, restaurants, ATM's, cybercafés and other services all around the central plaza.
