Puerto Arista is a very quiet, little fishing town. With a population of only a thousand people, there's not much happening on the average day, though there's always plenty of animals such as dogs and piglets running around. Located about 18km south-west of Tonalá, Puerto Arista faces the Pacific Ocean, and sitting on the empty beach watching the big waves crash to shore is very enjoyable. From July to September, this place is a haven to watch sea turtles lay their eggs. During weekends it’s not the same town. The whole place wakes up and it becomes even more alive during Semana Santa and the Christmas-New Year holidays, when everyone from all the surrounding towns and cities comes here to unwind.
Getting there
Since it’s a small town, there are not many buses available, though you should be able to catch one from Tonalá.
