Diria and Diriomo have always been related to each other and are known as the twin towns. Just like the other, Diria is worth visiting, as it offers some good tourist spots. Diria is particularly popular for the Mirador El Boquette, where you can get a great view of the Laguna de Apoyo as well as enjoy the surrounding bars and restaurants. From town, it’s about 2km of walking. Another famous spot here is the trail which leads to a small, muddy beach, where you can swim in the lake. You can also see this from the viewpoint above. Besides that, you can visit the church, which is historically significant. This is where the Dirian chief Cacique Diriangen met the Spanish conquistador Gil Gonzalez Davila some five hundred years ago and his famous retaliation attack. If you want to see what this valiant man looked like, just walk over to the shady corner of the park, and there's a sculpture of him.
Getting there
