With a population of 13,500 people Niquinohomo, a small colonial village, doesn’t have much to offer, although in town you can hang out and visit some nice buildings. One such place is the church. Besides the generally beautiful architecture around the town, some people come here because of the historical significance of this 16th century village, which is where General Agusto Cesar Sandino was born. If you are here for this reason, then you must visit the Augusto C Sandino Library, which is dedicated to displays of some nice artefacts and a biography about him, in English.
