If you visit this region, you must climb the mountain, it may be tiring, but it's really worth it. Always take a guide with you, simply because there are various hurdles on the way, such as dangerous routes, and unknown territories. Alternatively, you can also access it from another route, which is a good option only if you are driving here in a 4WD. From Posoltega, drive down to Finca Bella and then head to Volcán Casita by climbing for about eight hours, where you will get to the trail leading to the mighty Volcán San Cristóbal.
