This small town is renowned for its traditional pottery industry. In fact the name of the town, if translated in Nahuatl, means ‘the place of the potters’. Ceramics production has been going on here even before the Spanish first came to this land, and the town still houses some of the most important factories in the country.
Around and closeby
The Ducuali Ceramic Factory is a place famous for the display of the modern pottery works of the local women. This factory is about 3km away from the town, and worth visiting, for this is where you can buy some of the best works.
