If you don’t want to have to try very hard to access a beach south of San Juan del Sur then you should head down the road to the access opening of Playa Remanso, the most accessible of the beaches in the area. Playa Remanso has only half-decent surfing but it has excellent opportunities for swimming and wading, as well as interesting caves to explore. You won’t want to learn how to surf here because the breaks are overcrowded with beginners and if you’re looking for an empty beach you’re in the wrong region altogether.
