Punta Jesús María is a beautiful, mostly deserted place to visit. It was once used as a port by the indigenous fishermen of the area. In the dry season the water-levels drop so much that this sand spit stretches for almost 1km, out into the lake. You can reach here by renting a bike from Moyogalpa and cycling for about half an hour. There is one mid-priced, decent lodge there that rents horses and bikes.
