Thick rainforests cover most parts of the private island of San José, although there are many other beautiful places around here to visit as well, such as the rivers and waterfalls. The road system is quite good here, which means you can cover the whole place by car., and the experience of driving here is completely overwhelming with all the beautiful valleys that you have to pass through. Just to let you know, do not simply wander off track, for most of the island is still unexplored.

Sightseeing
You can visit the Hacienda del Mar at the cliff top, which gives you a breathtaking view of the whole island and the ocean around it. The hills are nice to explore. The plants and vegetation here show you how fertile the land is, and don’t forget to watch out for the wild animals and birds that roam around freely. It is pretty hard to miss the wild pigs here, since they roam in huge numbers! Also, you can visit the Sea Turtle Conservation Program, which is the one-stop place to watch the turtles nesting and being taken care of properly. Or alternatively you can go for night safari trips around the island, organized by the various tour operators here.
