Isla Colón is the main island in the group of islands known as Bocas del Toro, Panama. It is the island containing the town of Bocas which has the airport that one would fly into when arriving in Bocas del Toro. There are hotels, restaurants, night clubs, real estate agents and residential homes in Isla Colón. It is one of the only islands in the region with a regular power supply. Isla Colón is a boating community. To get to all the other islands you will either need your own boat, or rent a 'boat taxi'.
Sightseeing
Go on a sunset tour and take some spectacular photos while you enjoy dinner and drinks. There are also fishing tours if you fancy trying your hand at that. Snorkelling and scuba diving are extremely popular activities here and justifiably so, there are at least 74 of the 79 types of known coral here. It's a wonderful underwater world.
Getting there
You can fly to Bocas from Panama City or you can come by boat. Water taxis leave from Almirante on the main land.
