Cerro Punta is a very small village in Panama. It is surrounded by stunning scenery such as the the nearby Volcán Barú and the sloping hills and valleys. It is known for cattle herding, as well as the plants and fruits it cultivates.

Around and closeby
A great hike in the dry season, but not recommended during rains, is an 8 kilometre trek (mostly, but not all downhill) through rain forest, within sight of Volcán Barú, into Boquete. Take a half-hour 4WD taxi up to the ranger station and then hike for 5 hours to the ranger station on the other side of the park. At the other end, still with 4 kilometres to go to reach Boquete, you may be lucky and be able to hitch a ride with a farmer delivering carrots to market.

Getting there
There is a frequent bus from David to Cerro Punta.
