Antón is a sleepy little town that can come as quite a surprise for anyone planning to travel to here. It has some breathtaking surroundings and is renowned for being a hotbed of conservatism. The most surprising thing is that this small town hosts a gay parade every year, especially when homosexuality is seen as an offense in Panama. Antón is a peaceful town that offers serenity in the form of splendid scenery and gorgeous landscapes. Lying at the foot of the Campana Mountains, Antón is located amidst sugarcane plantations, rice fields and cattle ranches. The first thing you'll notice the moment you reach Antón is a blue Dolphin. No! It is not a real one but one made from plaster. Antón has some local restaurants, grocery stores, a bank, and a service station.
Sightseeing
Antón has a lot to offer in terms of hiking trails. It is also a popular destination for mountain bikers who test their strength, stamina and skills against the mighty mountains and perilous stretches of trails. You can reach Antón from Nata (25km) or from Farallón (15km).
