El Valle is visited by the Panama urban population during the weekends. The popularity lies not only in the town but stretches to the highway, which offers stunning views of the nearby mountainous landscape. El Valle, as the name suggests, is a valley, but it lies smack in the centre of a gigantic, extinct volcano. You can imagine how big the crater must be to accommodate an entire town. This concave is 5km in diameter and is more than three million years old. It is surrounded by such tranquility that it lures people from the urban areas and cities.

Sightseeing
Pozos Termales is a hot thermal spring that is rich in natural minerals and is a popular place to spend an idle afternoon. Next to the springs is the cool volcanic mud that replenishes the skin and rejuvenates a tired body.

Getting there
It is easy to reach El Valle from Panama City. There are regular buses that can be boarded from Avenida Central and take about 2.5 hours to reach El Valle. On a good day, it is more fun driving down and it will take less than 2 hours.
