Sabanitas lies 22km from Colón, as does Portobelo. It is an important junction with many local shopping areas. The streets are lined with a jumble of supermarkets, as well as food stalls, kiosks and open markets. There is always lots of people and vehicles in this town. From Sabanitas, you can also go to the only wildlife lodge in the entire province. It is a small place amidst thick forests and is a half an hour journey from Colón City.
