Garachiné is situated on the south-west curve of Bahia Garachiné and represents a small fishing community. There is a small airport nearby and the road from here will take you to Taimati village via Sambu Airport. Garachiné is one of the gateways into the district of Darien and lies on the junction of the Sambu River and the bay. There are a few small hotels that offer the basic amenities. Restaurants are not very common and the food is mostly local. You can fly down from Chitre via Panama City and La Palma to reach Garachiné.
