The village of Sambú is situated right next to the bank of the river Sambú. If you are looking for some adventure then the river trip on a motorized boat is the perfect option. It will take you through primeval jungle scenery that is truly spectacular. You will also get to see the Embera fishing villages and the hunting territory of the local tribes who use spears and blowguns to hunt their prey. If you are lucky enough, then you can photograph a lazy crocodile getting its suntan by the riverbank or catch a glimpse of the Jaguar or the harpy eagle. The journey is long and hot so packing some drinking water, sunscreen and mosquito spray is a must. Accommodation is available in different villages located along the river bank and the local guides taking you out on the boat trip will fix it up for you. You can reach Sambú by boat from La Palma or you can fly down from Panama City via El Real.
