Yaviza is the last stop on the Interamericana and it's barely recognizable as a town, except for the few thatched, wood huts. The town is treated as a stop over point for drivers, as the journey from here to Panama City is a long 266km drive. Of course, reaching Yaviza is not that easy, the rough dirt roads with massive potholes can cause considerable damage. The town has a police post from where you can get permission if you are planning to visit the jungle. Yaviza offers some basic amenities like hotels, car repair shops, bars etc.
