Ocú is known as the old hat-making town in the country but the town has been overshadowed by Penenome. Ocú is famous for its handmade creations, which are shipped throughout the world and sold throughout Panama. Once it was a busy town, buzzing with traders but today it is a quiet backwater town. Ocú is situated 22km from Pesé and takes about an hour on the bus from Chitré.
