San Francisco lies 18km north of Santiago, the capital of the province. There’s not much to do in town although there is a lovely church that you can visit. It has some lovely wooden carvings and altar pieces inside. You can also have a cooling dip in the pool that’s close to the beach.

Getting there
Most buses travelling across the country will pass by San Francisco, or you can get dropped of in Santiago and then catch a connecting bus from there.
