The fishing town of Pisco (which gets its name from the local brandy) is the starting point for reaching the Paracas Península. The peninsular region is a vast expanse of coastal land south of the Ballestas Islands, all of which form part of the Paracas National Reserve with a total area of - hold your breath - 335,000 hectares on both land and sea! Additionally, it is one of the most important reserves for marine life in the world and boasts the highest concentration of sea birds! You will also be able to watch a range of wild sea mammals as well.
