Isla de Plata is one of the most popular destinations for Venezuelan natives due to the amazing coral reefs, picturesque beaches, and proximity to the mainland. Though you can find food and drinks at the various stalls on the island, you'll find it tough to get drinking water. Make sure you carry some of your own. You can also watch the nearby giant cement plant from the island, which appears almost surreal.

Sightseeing
Located at a distance of 10km east of Puerto La Cruz, Isla de Plata is easily accessible by frequent boats that can be boarded from the pier at the Pamatacualito, the eastern suburb of Guanta. You can also catch a ride from the local por puestos, which are easily available in the suburb. On weekends, the frequency of boats is higher and it takes just 10 minutes to reach the island. You can even opt for the excursion boats from Puerto La Cruz, but these are less regular and more expensive.
