One of the most beautiful colonial towns in the state of Trujillo, Jajó is surrounded by gorgeous, lush green mountains and has a history dating back to 1611. The old colonial architecture and atmosphere has been preserved rather well by the town citizens. Make sure you visit the prettiest part of the town, which lies just north of the Plaza Bolivar.

Getting there
There is transport for Jajó from Valera, which takes about an hour and half. Buses are available every 40 minutes until 5pm in both direction. A rough but delightful mountain road to Bocono also links with Jajó. At one point, the road climbs as much as 3800 metres!
