This unique archipelago is located about 35km south-west of Cartagena. It consists of twenty-seven coral islands, including some extremely small ones. The archipelago is so beautiful, with the coral reefs and the changing colours of the sea, from turquoise to purple. It is now a national park by the name of Corales del Rosario. But good things don’t last long and the recent warm water currents are slowly killing the reefs. Isla Grande and Isla del Rosario are the two largest islands here, where most of the water sports and activities such as diving are very popular. In fact, these islands have inland lagoons and cater to tourists very well.
