Located at the higher end of an agricultural valley, nearby the earthen pyramids of Jatunpamba, it is on the old road to Otavalo from Quito, but very little traffic goes all the way.

Hourly buses take this picturesque route passing the Rio Cubi warm springs and arriving in the plaza of this ancient hill town.

Good walking or biking (bring your own) along the surrounding country lanes through some small but lovely patches of Andean forest.
