General Information

Pasochoa volcano is the location of one of the last extensive stands of interandean cloud forest in the northern highlands. The crater forms the reserve with excellent well marked trails, good for botany and bird watching or hiking. Entry fees are $10 and a taxi from Amaguaña will cost about $6.

The northern accesses are often hiked as the beginning of a mountaineering acclimatization program. The summit is at 4200 meters and the approach is far safer than from within the crater.

Many agencies in Quito offer day tours to the summit or reserve.
