The Arctis Nova 5X combines 2.4GHz wireless gaming with Bluetooth 5.3, letting you switch to a call or media without treating the headset as a single-device accessory.
Its app offers more than 100 game audio presets, while the retractable microphone and on-headset ChatMix controls cover practical gaming and communication needs.
This is a sensible fit for players with several supported systems, especially Xbox users who also want a headset for a phone or tablet.
The long battery life and quick-charge option suit longer gaming routines, though buyers should decide whether the wireless switching, presets, and platform flexibility match their setup before paying for features they may not use.
The buying factors
Arctis Nova 5X Scorecard
Editorial scores reflect listed features and buyer fit; they are not laboratory measurements or customer ratings.
Platform flexibility
USB-C dongle support spans Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, phones, and tablets, making this headset useful across a mixed-device setup.
Wireless switching
A tap switches between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth 5.3 for calls or media, a practical way to keep one headset in use across different activities.
Battery and charging
The 60-hour battery rating and quick-charge option support extended use, with six hours of use available after a 15-minute charge.
Game audio customization
More than 100 presets in the companion app provide ready-made ways to tailor audio for named games, without requiring manual adjustment for every title.
Microphone practicality
The microphone retracts into the headset, which keeps it out of the way when you do not need it; outdoor call quality should be checked if that is a priority.
On-headset controls
Power, mute, volume, ChatMix, and wireless quick-switch controls are accessible on the headset, reducing dependence on a separate control surface for those adjustments.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Buy it if you play across Xbox and other supported devices and want to move between gaming audio and Bluetooth calls or media with a button press.
The USB-C dongle and quick-switch modes make that multi-device role central to the headset’s design.
It also suits players who value customizable game audio and a long interval between charges.
The companion app provides more than 100 presets, and a 15-minute USB-C fast charge offers six hours of use when you need a quick top-up.
Who should skip it
Skip it if you only use one gaming system and have no need for Bluetooth calls, media switching, or app-based presets; much of its versatility may go unused.
Consider whether you will use the companion app and multiple connection modes in your regular setup.
Arctis Nova 5X Review: Multi-Platform Gaming and Daily Use
Switching between game audio and Bluetooth
The quick-switch function connects the headset’s two wireless roles: 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth 5.3 calls or media.
This can be convenient for players who want to handle a phone call without abandoning their gaming setup, while notification beeps flag incoming calls during play.
Presets add a layer of game-specific control
The companion app offers more than 100 presets for games including GTA V, FIFA, and Call of Duty.
Presets are useful for buyers who want game-oriented starting points, although the count alone does not establish how any particular setting will sound to an individual player.
Battery life favors longer routines
The stated 60-hour battery life is a strong fit for players who want fewer charging interruptions, and fast charging adds six hours of use after 15 minutes via USB-C.
These figures are useful planning points, though actual runtime will depend on usage and settings.
Controls and microphone meet practical needs
The retractable ClearCast 2.X microphone can tuck away when voice chat is not needed, and power, mute, volume, ChatMix, and wireless switching are available on the headset.
For regular calls in noisy surroundings, verify whether the microphone suits those conditions before relying on it.
